Peterborough Bus & Commercial Vehicle Rally

In 2012 the rally will be held on Sunday 15th July between 10.00 and 16.00 at Sacrewell Farm

This is an excellent opportunity to see and ride on some beautifully preserved vintage buses and coaches from all over the UK dating back to the 1950s. You can relive the experience of travel on these wonderful old vehicles. There are also many interesting vintage commercial vehicles. Admission to the rally is free and there is no charge to use the associated bus services. Normal charges apply for travel on the railway and admission to the exhibits at Sacrewell Farm which is just off the A47 close to the junction with the A1 (SatNav PE8 6HJ). Car parking charge £5 (refundable against admission to Sacrewell Farm and Country Centre). Please try and come by free bus!

Free Bus service from Queensgate Bus Station
Free buses will depart hourly from Queensgate bus station, bay 20 at quarter past the hour from 10.15 until 3.15, returning from Sacrewell farm at a quarter to the hour from 10.45 until 3.45.

Free vintage bus services from Wansford and Nene Valley Railway
A selection of vintage buses will operate up to every 10 minutes from Wansford Village and Wansford Station Nene Valley Railway which has a further selection of vintage vehicles as well as a full timetable and Travelling Post Office mail exchanges.

Previous Peterborough bus rallies

Sunday 11th July 2010
The event was operated in conjunction with the Vintage Weekend at Nene Valley Railway where traction engines and other vintage vehicles were on display. The event was the biggest so far with over fifty vehicles attending. Thanks to everybody who brought a vehicle and/or helped in the organisation of the event. This rally was organised by Peterborough City Council to celebrate 100 years of public transport in Peterborough. (I remember it well as it led to me eventually buying three old buses!).

Sunday 15th August 1993
This event was organised by Viscount Bus and Coach Company (still in existence as part of Stagecoach) to celebrate 90 years of public transport in the city.
